Hadith 3024
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : مُرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِجِنَازَةٍ فَأُثْنِيَّ عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا مِنْ مَنَاقِبِ الْخَيْرِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَجَبَتْ ، أَنْتُمْ شُهُودُ اللَّهِ فِي الأَرْضِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A funeral passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the deceased was praised for his good virtues. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It has become obligatory. You are Allah's witnesses on earth."
