Hadith 3021
It is narrated about Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): She inquired, "What happened to Yazid bin Qais? May Allah curse him." People informed her, "He has died." So Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I seek forgiveness from Allah." People asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), "What is the reason that first you cursed him and then you said, 'I seek forgiveness from Allah'?" So Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) explained that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not speak ill of the dead, for they have gone on to what they sent forth." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away in 57 Hijri, and Mujahid was born in the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in 21 Hijri, so this will guide you to the fact that whoever claims that Mujahid did not hear hadith from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), he is mistaken in his opinion.
