Hadith 3000
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ ، إِمَّا مُحْسِنًا فَلَعَلَّهُ يَزْدَادُ خَيْرًا ، وَإِمَّا مُسِيئًا فَلَعَلَّهُ يَسْتَعْتِبُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "None of you should ever wish for death, because if he is righteous, it is possible that his goodness will increase, and if he is sinful, it is possible that he may repent."
