Hadith 2983
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ وَكَانَ يُسَمَّى شُعْبَةَ الصَّغِيرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الإِسْلامِ ، كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever grows old in Islam (i.e., any Muslim whose hair turns white), then this will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 2984
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ بِنَسَا ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زَنْجَوَيْهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ السُّلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُورًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Najeeh Salmi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever grows old in the way of Allah (i.e., his hair turns white in His cause), then this will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection."
