The Sick and Related Matters - What to pray when visiting the sick
Hadith 2971
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا أَتَى مَرِيضًا أَوْ أُتِيَ بِمَرِيضٍ ، قَالَ : " أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي ، لا شِفَاءَ إِلا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would visit a sick person or when a sick person was brought to him, he (peace be upon him) would recite (for healing): "Remove the illness, O Lord of the people, grant healing, You are the only Healer, there is no healing except Your healing, grant such a healing that leaves no trace of illness."
