Hadith 2956
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا لَمْ يَزَلْ يَخُوضُ الرَّحْمَةَ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ ، فَإِذَا جَلَسَ ، غُمِرَ فِيهَا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever visits a sick person, he remains immersed in mercy as long as he sits there, and as long as he sits, he is submerged in it."
