Patience and Reward for Illness and Afflictions - Hope for Paradise for one who loses one child and seeks reward
Hadith 2947
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَخْتَلِفُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ بُنَيٍّ لَهُ فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : مَاتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لأَبِيهِ : " أَمَا يَسُرُّكَ أَلا تَأْتِي بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ إِلا وَجَدْتَهُ يَنْتَظِرُكَ ؟ " .
Muawiyah bin Qurrah narrates from his father: A man used to come to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) along with his son. Once, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not find him present, he inquired about him. The people informed him: His (son) has passed away. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to his father: Do you not like that whichever door of Paradise you come to, you will find him waiting for you?
