Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A person passed away in Madinah Munawwarah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) led his funeral prayer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If only his death had occurred somewhere other than his place of birth. One of those present asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why is that? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person dies somewhere other than his place of birth, the distance from his place of birth to the place of death is measured for him, and he is granted that much space in Paradise.
