Patience and Reward for Illness and Afflictions - Hope for Paradise for one who praises Allah after losing his two precious things, if he valued them
Hadith 2931
أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو بِالْفُسْطَاطِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لُقْمَانُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ ، عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي عَنْ رَبِّهِ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَلَبْتُ مِنْ عَبْدِي كَرِيمَتَيْهِ وَهُوَ بِهِمَا ضَنِينٌ ، لَمْ أَرْضَ لَهُ ثَوَابًا دُونَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذَا حَمِدَنِي عَلَيْهِمَا " .
Sayyiduna Irbadh bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) conveyed this statement from his Lord: "When I take away from My servant his two beloved things (i.e., the eyesight of both eyes) and he still desires them, then when he praises Me over this, I am not pleased with any reward for him less than Paradise."
