Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the time of ignorance, a man met with an immoral woman and began to indulge in indecent acts with her, until he extended his hand towards her. The woman said: Stop, for Allah Almighty has abolished polytheism and Islam has come. The man left the woman and turned away. He kept looking back at her, and the woman also kept looking at him, until the man's face struck a wall. He came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with blood flowing from his face and informed him of the entire incident. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You are a servant about whom Allah Almighty intended good. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Indeed, when Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He hastens the punishment for his sin (i.e., in this world), and when He intends evil for a servant, He lets him commit sin until He gives him his full recompense on the Day of Resurrection, as if he is free from sin (i.e., apparently pure).
