Hadith 2839
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَافَى الْعَابِدُ بِصَيدَا ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بِحِمْصَ ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ بِصُغْدَ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ بِدِمَشْقَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ كَسَفَتَ الشَّمْسُ صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the day when the solar eclipse occurred, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed four bowings (ruku) and four prostrations (sajdah) in two units (rak‘ah) of prayer.
