Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), there was a solar eclipse, so he stood up in anxiety. We feared that the Hour (Day of Judgment) was about to come. He went to the mosque, stood up, and performed a prayer with long standing, bowing, and prostration. I have never seen him perform such a long standing, bowing, and prostration in any prayer. Then he delivered a sermon and said: "Indeed, these are signs which Allah sends. They do not appear because of anyone's death or life, but Allah sends them to instill fear in His servants. So when you see any of them, turn to the remembrance of Allah, supplicate to Him, and seek forgiveness from Him."
