Eclipse Prayer - Clarification that the prayer is performed until the eclipse ends
Hadith 2833
أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْعَابِدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَصْرٍ ، قَالَ : خَبَّرَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، قَالَ : انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ ، وَلا لِحَيَاتِهِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ شَيْئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا ، حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ ، أَوْ يُحَدِّثَ اللَّهُ أَمْرًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: During the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), there was a solar eclipse. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon do not eclipse because of anyone's death or life. When you see either of them (in the state of eclipse), perform prayer until it becomes bright again or Allah makes a new decision."
