Eclipse Prayer - Description of the prayer for celestial events
Hadith 2830
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلاةُ الآيَاتِ سِتُّ رَكَعَاتٍ ، وَأَرْبَعُ سَجَدَاتٍ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : يُرِيدُ بِهِ أَنَّ صَلاةَ الآيَاتِ يَجِبُ أَنْ تُصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ ثَلاثُ رُكُوعَاتٍ ، وَسَجْدَتَانِ ، وَتَفْسِيرُهُ فِي خَبَرِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the prayer performed at the appearance of the sign, there will be six bowings (ruku) and four prostrations (sujood)." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): By this, he means that in the prayer performed at the time of the appearance of the signs, it is necessary for a person to perform two units (rak'ahs), in each of which he should bow three times and prostrate twice. This is clarified by the narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) on the authority of Abdul Malik bin Abu Sulaiman from Ata.
