Eid Prayers - Clarification that the sermon on Eid should be after the prayer, not before
Hadith 2824
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، وَابْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ : أَشْهَدُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَصَلَّى ، ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ ، فَجَعَلْنَ يُلْقِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I bear witness regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he went out with his companions on the day of Eid al-Fitr. He performed the prayer, then delivered the sermon, then he went to the women and instructed them to give charity, so they began to give charity.
