Friday Prayer - What the Prophet (peace be upon him) said during his sitting between the two sermons
Hadith 2803
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَزَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ ، فَيَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ يَقْرَأُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver a sermon on the pulpit, then he would sit down, then stand up and deliver a sermon again. He would sit between the two sermons. During the sermon, he would recite verses from the Book of Allah and admonish and advise the people.
