Hadith 2799
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon to us and recited Surah Sad. When he recited the verse of prostration, he descended from the pulpit and performed prostration, and we also performed prostration along with him. Then he recited it a second time, and when he reached the place of prostration, we were ready to perform prostration. He saw us and said: This is the incident of a Prophet's repentance, but I have seen you, you are ready to perform prostration, so he descended from the pulpit. He performed prostration and we also performed prostration along with him. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The correct wording is "preparedness" (i.e., you are prepared to do so).
