Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever performs ghusl on Friday like the ghusl of janabah and then sets out (for the mosque), it is as if he has sacrificed a camel. Whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he has sacrificed a cow. Whoever goes in the third hour, it is as if he has sacrificed a ram. Whoever goes in the fourth hour, it is as if he has sacrificed a chicken. Whoever goes in the fifth hour, it is as if he has given an egg in charity. When the Imam comes, the angels come to the mosque and listen to the remembrance (i.e., the sermon).” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) In this narration, there is a clear statement that the word “rawah” (going) applies to all hours of the day. This is contrary to the view of the one who claims that the word “rawah” only applies to going after the sun has passed its zenith.
