Section on Prayer During Travel - Permissibility for the traveler to shorten prayer if staying in a place without intending to stay four days, even if staying a long time
Hadith 2749
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقَامَ بِتَبُوكَ عِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا يَقْصُرُ الصَّلاةَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Tabuk for twenty days, and during this period he continued to perform shortened prayers.
