Hadith 2740
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَيْهِ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ : عَجِبْتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَقَصْرِهُمُ الصَّلاةَ ، وَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ : فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلاةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سورة النساء آية 101 ، وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ هَذَا ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : عَجِبْتُ مِمَّا عَجِبْتَ مِنْهُ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " هُوَ صَدَقَةٌ تَصَدَّقَ اللَّهُ بِهَا عَلَيْكُمْ ، فَاقْبَلُوا رُخْصَتُهُ " .
Ya'la bin Umayyah narrates: I said to Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): I am surprised at this matter, that people perform Qasr prayer; Allah Almighty has stated: "There is no sin upon you." This is at the time when you fear that disbelievers may put you to trial, so at that time if you perform Qasr prayer (then there is no sin upon you), but now this situation no longer exists. So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was also surprised at the same thing at which you are surprised. I mentioned this matter to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: This is a charity which Allah Almighty has bestowed upon you, so accept His concession.
