Hadith 2737
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " أَوَّلُ مَا فُرِضَتِ الصَّلاةُ فِي الْحَضَرِ وَالسَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ زِيدَ فِي صَلاةِ الْحَضَرِ ، وَأُقِرَّتْ فِي السَّفَرِ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the prayer was made obligatory, two rak'ahs were prescribed for both residence and travel. Then, the prayer during residence was increased, and the prayer during travel was kept in its original state.
