Section on Women’s Travel - Warning against a woman traveling any distance without a mahram
Hadith 2731
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا مَعْبَدٍ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لا يَخْلُوَنَّ رَجُلٌ بِامْرَأَةٍ ، وَلا تُسَافِرُ إِلا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying this: "Never be alone with (a non-mahram) woman, and a woman should not travel except when she is accompanied by her mahram (close male relative)."
