Section on Women’s Travel - Mention of a narration that may seem to the untrained that a woman may travel less than three days without a mahram
Hadith 2730
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا تُسَافِرُ الْمَرْأَةُ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "No woman should travel for three days except that her mahram is with her (then it is permissible)."
