Section on Women’s Travel - A sixth narration indicating that the prohibition applies to less and more than this number
Hadith 2729
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا تُسَافِرُ الْمَرْأَةُ إِلا وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A woman should not travel except when her mahram is with her (then it is permissible)."
