Section on Women’s Travel - A fifth narration indicating that the prohibition with this number does not permit less than that
Hadith 2727
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا تُسَافِرِ الْمَرْأَةُ بَرِيدًا إِلا مَعَ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : سَمِعَ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَسَمِعَهُ مِنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَالطَّرِيقَانِ جَمِيعًا مَحْفُوظَانِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No woman should travel even the distance of a barid without a mahram." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Suhail bin Abi Salih heard this hadith from his father on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, and he also heard this narration from Sa'id Maqburi on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him. So both of its chains are preserved.
