Hadith 2716
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to set out on a journey, he would recite this supplication: “O Allah! You are the companion in travel and the guardian of the family in absence. O Allah! I seek Your protection from the hardship of travel, from facing any distress upon return. O Allah! Fold the earth for us and make our journey easy for us.” When he intended to return, he would recite: “We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and prostrating before our Lord.” When he entered his home, he would recite: “Repenting, repenting, turning towards our Lord (we return home), may He not leave any of our sins remaining.”
