Chapter on the Traveler - Instruction for the returning traveler to pray two units in the mosque before entering his home
Hadith 2715
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَارِبُ بْنُ دِثَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، قَالَ : " فَلَمَّا أَتَى الْمَدِينَةَ أَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We were on a journey with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The narrator states: When he came to Madinah Munawwarah, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed him to come to the mosque and perform two rak‘ahs.
