Hadith 2714
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا قَالَ : " أَمْهِلُوا حَتَّى تَمْتَشِطَ الشَّعِثَةُ ، وَتَسْتَحِدَّ الْمَغِيبَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: We went with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to participate in a battle. When we returned, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "You people wait so that the woman with disheveled hair may comb her hair, and the woman (whose husband had been away from home for a long time) may adorn herself."
