Chapter on the Traveler - Mention of a narration that may seem to the untrained that the narration of Shu’bah is defective
Hadith 2712
أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ فِطْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا رَجَعَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ قَالَ : " آيِبُونَ ، تَائِبُونَ ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ " .
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a journey, he would recite: “We are returning, repenting, and praising our Lord.”
Hadith 2713
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ لَيْلا ، فَلا يَطْرُقْ أَهْلَهُ طُرُوقًا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "When a person enters his city at night, he should not go to his wife at night."
