Chapter on Prostration of Forgetfulness - Description of the two prostrations for one who stands up from two units out of forgetfulness
Hadith 2676
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ ، فَقَامَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ صَلاتِهِ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led us in the Zuhr prayer. (After performing two rak‘ahs) when it was obligatory for him to sit, instead of sitting he stood up. At the end of the prayer, when he was sitting, he performed the prostration of forgetfulness (sajdah sahw) twice.
