Section on Night Prayer - Mention that the Prophet (peace be upon him) made up his missed night portion during the day
Hadith 2645
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا لَمْ يُصَلِّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، مَنَعَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّوْمُ أَوْ غَلَبَتْهُ عَيْنَاهُ ، صَلَّى مِنَ النَّهَارِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً " .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was unable to perform the night voluntary prayers due to sleep, or if he dozed off, then he would perform twelve rak'ahs during the day.
