Section on Night Prayer - Clarification that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed night prayer while traveling as he did at home
Hadith 2629
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُصْعَبٍ ، بِالسِّنْجِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلالٍ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَاخَ رَاحِلَتَهُ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى عَشْرَ رَكَعَاتٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ ، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he made his mount sit down, then he dismounted and performed ten rak‘ahs, two at a time. Then he performed one rak‘ah of witr, then he performed two rak‘ahs (sunnah) of Fajr, then he performed the morning (Fajr) prayer.
