Hadith 2619
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ صَلاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِاللَّيْلِ ، فَقَالَتْ : " كَانَ يُصَلِّي ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ صَلَّى إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً تَرَكَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قُبِضَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قُبِضَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ آخِرَ صَلاتِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَالْوِتْرِ ، ثُمَّ رُبَّمَا جَاءَ إِلَى فِرَاشِي هَذَا ، فَيَأْتِيهِ بِلالٌ فَيُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلاةِ " .
Masruq reports: We visited Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about the night prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform thirteen rak‘ahs at night, then he started performing eleven rak‘ahs, omitting two rak‘ahs. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he used to perform nine rak‘ahs at night. The last part of his night prayer would be Witr. Then sometimes he would come to my bed, and then Bilal would come to call him for prayer.
