Hadith 2595
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وَالأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الأَسْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ عِنْدَ حُجْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهُ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، قَالَ : " سُبْحَانَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " الْهَوِيَّ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ " الْهَوِيَّ .
Sayyiduna Rabi’ bin Ka’b Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I spent the night near the chamber of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he was performing voluntary prayers at night, so I kept listening to him. He was reciting: “Glory be to the Lord of all the worlds.” You kept reciting this for quite a while, “Allah, the Exalted, is free from every defect, and all praise is due to Him alone.”
