Section on night prayer – mentioning that Allah records the one who wakes his family for night prayer as among those who remember Allah much, after they pray two rak’ahs
Hadith 2568
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ ، بِتُسْتُرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الأَقْمَرِ ، عَنِ الأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، وأبي هريرة ، قَالا : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ ، فَقَامَا فَصَلَّيَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، كُتِبَا مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wakes up at night and wakes up his wife, and both of them stand and perform two rak'ahs, then both of their names are written among the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah much."
