Hadith 2556
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ ، ذَكَرٍ وَلا أُنْثَى ، يَنَامُ إِلا وَعَلَيْهِ جَرِيرٌ مَعْقُودٌ ، فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ ، انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ ، وَإِنْ هُوَ تَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ أَصْبَحَ نَشِيطًا قَدْ أَصَابَ خَيْرًا ، وَقَدِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقَدُهُ كُلُّهَا ، وَإِنْ أَصْبَحَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ أَصْبَحَ وَعُقَدُهُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَأَصْبَحَ ثَقِيلا كَسْلانَ لَمْ يُصِبْ خَيْرًا " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever a Muslim man or woman sleeps, knots are tied upon him. When he wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is untied. If he performs ablution and stands for prayer, he wakes up energetic, having attained goodness, and all his knots are untied. But if he wakes up and does not remember Allah, he wakes up with all his knots still tied, and he wakes up with a heavy mind in a state of laziness, and he does not attain goodness."
