Hadith 2555
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ: لا أَقُولُ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَمْ يَقُلْ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ بَيْتًا مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ " . وَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " رَجُلٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَقُومُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يُعَالِجُ نَفْسَهُ إِلَى الطَّهُورِ وَعَلَيْهِ عُقَدٌ ، فَإِذَا وَضَّأَ يَدَيْهِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ ، فَإِذَا وَضَّأَ وَجْهَهُ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ ، وَإِذَا مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ ، وَإِذَا وَضَّأَ رِجْلَيْهِ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلا لِلَّذِي وَرَاءَ الْحِجَابِ: انْظُرُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي هَذَا يُعَالِجُ نَفْسَهُ لَيَسْأَلَنِي ، مَا سَأَلَنِي عَبْدِي هَذَا فَهُوَ لَهُ ، مَا سَأَلَنِي عَبْدِي هَذَا فَهُوَ لَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr رضي الله عنه narrates: I have never reported anything regarding the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم except what the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم himself said. I heard the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم say: "Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me should prepare his abode in Hell." And I heard the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم say: "A person from my Ummah gets up at night, he goes to perform ablution, and there are knots upon him. When he washes his hands, one knot is untied; when he washes his face, the second knot is untied; when he wipes his head, the third knot is untied; when he washes his feet, another knot is untied. Then Allah Almighty says from behind the veil: Look at My servant who is preparing himself so that he may ask from Me. Today, whatever My servant asks from Me, he will be granted. Whatever My servant asks from Me, he will be granted."
