Section on prayer on a riding animal – mentioning the description of bowing and prostration for one praying voluntarily on his mount
Hadith 2522
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ نَمِرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ فِي السُّبْحَةِ يُومِئُ بِرَأْسِهِ إِيمَاءً " .
Salim narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar) that I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performing voluntary prayers on his mount during travel, and he was indicating (bowing and prostrating) with the movement of his head.
