Section on voluntary prayers – clarification that the instruction is to pray two rak’ahs upon entering the mosque before sitting
Hadith 2497
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيُصَلِّ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah Salami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any person comes to the mosque, he should perform two rak‘ahs before sitting down."
