Section on voluntary prayers – mentioning an instruction that outwardly appears to contradict the previously mentioned action
Hadith 2477
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيُصَلِّ بَعْدَهَا أَرْبَعًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person has performed the Friday prayer, he should then perform four rak‘ahs."
