Hadith 2460
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، فَقَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى : قُلْ يَأَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ سورة الكافرون آية 1 حَتَّى انْقَضَتِ السُّورَةُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذَا عَبْدٌ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ " ، وَقَرَأَ فِي الآخِرَةِ : قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ سورة الإخلاص آية 1 حَتَّى انْقَضَتِ السُّورَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذَا عَبْدٌ آمَنَ بِرَبِّهِ " ، فَقَالَ طَلْحَةُ : فَأَنَا أَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ بِهَاتَيْنِ السُّورَتَيْنِ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man stood up and performed the two (Sunnah) rak‘ahs of Fajr. In the first rak‘ah, he recited Surah Al-Kafirun and completed the entire Surah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This servant has recognized his Lord. In the second rak‘ah, he recited Surah Al-Ikhlas and completed the Surah as well. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This servant has brought faith in his Lord. The narrator named Talhah says: I consider it preferable that these two Surahs be recited in these two rak‘ahs.
