Ghudaif bin Harith narrates: I said to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): O Mother of the Believers, what do you say? Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the Witr prayer in the early part of the night or in the last part of the night? Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Sometimes he would perform Witr in the early part of the night and sometimes in the last part of the night. I said: Allahu Akbar, all praise is due to Allah alone, Who has provided flexibility in this matter. I asked: O Mother of the Believers! What do you say? Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the ghusl of janabah in the early part of the night or in the last part of the night? Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Sometimes he would perform ghusl in the early part of the night and sometimes in the last part of the night, so I said: Allahu Akbar, all praise is due to Allah alone, Who has provided flexibility in this matter. I asked: O Mother of the Believers! What do you say? Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite aloud in prayer or recite quietly? Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Sometimes he would recite aloud and sometimes he would recite quietly. I said: Allahu Akbar! All praise is due to Allah alone, Who has provided flexibility in this matter.
