Section on Witr prayer – clarification that the Prophet, when performing Witr as three, would separate the two from the one with a tasleem
Hadith 2434
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ الْوَضِينِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ بِتَسْلِيمٍ يُسْمِعُنَاهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to separate the even and odd prayers by saying salam in between them, which was done in a loud voice.
