Hadith 2401
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ وَرْدَانَ ، بِمِصْرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ يُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ، ثُمَّ يَنْصَرِفُ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَيُصَلِّيهَا لَهُمْ ، وَكَانَ إِمَامَهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform the 'Isha prayer behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), then he would return to his people and lead them in this prayer. He was their imam.
