Hadith 2394
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالأَبْطَحِ فِي قُبَّةٍ لَهُ حَمْرَاءَ مِنْ أَدَمٍ " ، قَالَ : فَخَرَجَ بِلالٌ بِوَضُوئِهِ ، فَبَيْنَ نَائِلٍ وَنَاضِحٍ ، قَالَ : " فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ حَمْرَاءُ ، كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بَيَاضِ سَاقَيْهِ " ، قَالَ : " فَتَوَضَّأَ وَأَذَّنَ بِلالٌ ، فَجَعَلَ يَتْبَعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا ، يَقُولُ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالا : حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ ، ثُمَّ رُكِزَتْ لَهُ عَنَزَةٌ ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ الْحِمَارُ وَالْكَلْبُ لا يَمْنَعُ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ " .
Awn bin Abu Juhaifah narrates from his father: I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). At that time, he was in "Abtah," in a red leather tent. The narrator says: When the leftover water from the ablution of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was brought out by Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), people began to take that water. The narrator states: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) came out, and he was wearing a red cloak. The whiteness of his shins is as if I can still see it before my eyes. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ablution, then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the call to prayer, and while giving the call, he turned his face this way and that, meaning to the right and to the left, that is, while saying «حی علی الصلاۃ» and «حی علی الفلاح», he did so. Then a spear was planted in front of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) stood and led two rak'ahs of the Asr prayer. Donkeys and dogs kept passing in front of him (on the other side of the spear). They were not stopped. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) continued to perform two rak'ahs (i.e., shortened prayer) until he returned to Madinah Munawwarah.
