Section on what is disliked and not disliked for the one praying – clarification that these three things only break the prayer if there is no barrier in front of the worshipper
Hadith 2392
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَقْطَعُ صَلاتَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ ، وَالْحِمَارُ ، وَالْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ، فَمَا بَالُ الْكَلْبِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الأَحْمَرِ مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الأَصْفَرِ ؟ ، قَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّا سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ " .
Abdullah bin Samit narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When there is nothing in front of a person as much as the back part of a saddle (as a sutrah), then a woman, a donkey, and a black dog (passing in front of him) break his prayer." The narrator says: O (Sayyiduna) Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him)! Why a black dog? Why not a red dog or a yellow dog? He replied: O my nephew, I also asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about what you have asked me, and he said: The black dog is a devil.
