Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Clarification that Mention of “Woman” in the Report is General but Refers to Some, Not All Women
Hadith 2387
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الطُّوسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَقْطَعُ الصَّلاةَ : الْكَلْبُ ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ ، الْحَائِضُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A dog and a menstruating woman (this can also mean an adult woman) passing in front of a person praying invalidate his prayer."
