Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Permissibility to Prevent a Sheep from Passing in Front During Prayer
Hadith 2371
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الرُّخَامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، وَالزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ خِرِّيتٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُصَلِّي ، فَمَرَّتْ شَاةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَسَاعَاهَا إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ حَتَّى أَلْصَقَ بَطْنَهُ بِالْقِبْلَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer. A goat passed in front of him, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) compelled it to go towards the Qiblah (the wall in the direction of prayer), until he made its belly touch the Qiblah (the wall in the direction of prayer).
