Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Prohibition of Praying in Open Space Without a Barrier
Hadith 2362
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تُصَلِّ إِلا إِلَى سُتْرَةٍ ، وَلا تَدَعْ أَحَدًا يَمُرُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ ، فَإِنْ أَبَى ، فَلْتُقَاتِلْهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should only perform prayer facing a sutrah, and do not let anyone pass in front of you. If they do not comply, then fight with them, for he will be a devil."
