Chapter on What is Disliked and Not Disliked – Command to Suppress Yawning as Much as Possible
Hadith 2357
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " التَّثَاؤُبُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، إِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَكْظِمْ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Yawning is from the devil, so when a person feels like yawning, he should try his best to restrain it."
